POSTcodes (AKA BIOS BEEP codes)

Οταν ο υπολογιστης ανοιγει ή κανει reboot το BIOS κανει ενα τεστ που λεγεται power-on self test (POST) για να ελεγξει το hardware του υπολογιστη και οτι ολα τα υποσυστηματα λειτουργουν κανονικα. Κανονικα το POST αν υπαρξει προβλημα θα εμφανισει μηνυμα λαθους. Αν ομως το BIOS εντοπισει προβλημα πριν τον ελεγχο της καρτας γραφικων θα κανει μια σειρα απο ηχους(Beeps). Αναλογα το προβλημα θα γινουν διαφορετικοι ηχοι. Παρακατω ειναι μια λιστα για διαφορα συστηματα που θα σας βοηθησει να εντοπισετε το προβλημα.

 Because there are many brands of BIOS, there are no standard beep codes for every BIOS.

The two most-used brands are AMI (American Megatrends International) and Phoenix.

Below are listed the beep codes for AMI systems, and here are the beep codes for Phoenix systems.

AMI Beep Codes

Beep Code Meaning

1 beep DRAM refresh failure. There is a problem in the system memory or the motherboard.

2 beeps Memory parity error. The parity circuit is not working properly.

3 beeps Base 64K RAM failure. There is a problem with the first 64K of system memory.

4 beeps System timer not operational. There is problem with the timer(s) that control functions on the motherboard.

5 beeps Processor failure. The system CPU has failed.

6 beeps Gate A20/keyboard controller failure. The keyboard IC controller has failed, preventing gate A20 from switching the processor to protect mode.

7 beeps Virtual mode exception error.

8 beeps Video memory error. The BIOS cannot write to the frame buffer memory on the video card.

9 beeps ROM checksum error. The BIOS ROM chip on the motherboard is likely faulty.

10 beeps CMOS checksum error. Something on the motherboard is causing an error when trying to interact with the CMOS.

11 beeps Bad cache memory. An error in the level 2 cache memory.

1 long beep, 2 short Failure in the video system.

1 long beep, 3 short A failure has been detected in memory above 64K.

1 long beep, 8 short Display test failure.

Continuous beeping A problem with the memory or video.

Phoenix Beep Codes

Phoenix uses sequences of beeps to indicate problems. The "-" between each number below indicates a pause between each beep sequence. For example, 1-2-3 indicates one beep, followed by a pause and two beeps, followed by a pause and three beeps. Phoenix version before 4.x use 3-beep codes, while Phoenix versions starting with 4.x use 4-beep codes.

Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight

 

Το Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight θα φτασει στα PC μας τον Μαρτιο! Πιο συγκεκριμενα 16 Μαρτιου 2010 θα κυκλοφορησει στην Αμερικη και στις  19 του ιδιου μηνα στην Ευρωπη.  Η τελευταια εκδοση της σειρας ηταν το Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars το οποιο κυκλοφόρησε το Μάρτιο του 2007, ενώ το Μάρτιο του 2008 ακολούθησε το expansion του -ονόματι "Kane's Wrath".  Το Command & Conquer 4 μενοντας πιστο στη παραδοση των προκατοχων του παραμενει ενα Sci-Fi Real-Time Strategy Game. Το Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight θα ειναι μαλλον και το τελευταιο της σειρας δινοντας στους φιλους της σειρας τον επιλογο της ιστοριας.

 Βρισκομαστε στο ετος 2062. Η ανθρωποτητα βρισκεται στα προθυρα της εξαφανισης. Το Tiberium , ο μυστηριωδης εξωγηινος κρυσταλλος , εχει  κατακλυσει το πλανητη και για δεκαετιες τωρα ειναι η αιτια των συνεχων διενεξεων των GDI και της αδελφοτητας των NOD. Ο πλανητης εχει φτασει στα ορια του και εχει σχεδον γινει μη κατοικισιμος. Αυτη την ωρα ο Kane , ηγετης των NOD και προφητης συμφωνα με τους οπαδους του , δηλωνει οτι εχει βρει τροπο να ελεγξει το Tiberium και να εκμεταλευτει τη δυναμη του. Προκειμενου να το κανει αυτο ομως χρειαζεται την βοηθεια των GDI. Οι 2 παλιοι αντιπαλοι θα σχηματισουν μια συμμαχια σε  μια απελπιδα προσπαθεια να ελεγξουν το Tiberium και προλαβουν την εξαφανιση του ανθρωπινου ειδους!

 

Παλιες μοναδες οπως το mammoth tank παραμενουν στο παιχνιδι και συμπηρωνονται με αρκετες νεες.

Συμφωνα με την EA το νεο παιχνιδι θα εχει νεα χαρακτηριστικα οπως

·  Οσο περισσοτερες μοναδες του εχθρου καταστρεφει ο παικτης θα αποκτα ¨εμπειρια¨ και ποντους τους οποιους θα χρησιμοποιει για να αναβαθμιζει το προφιλ του και να ξεκλειδωνει νεες μοναδες.

·  Πρωτη φορα στην ιστορια του παιχνιδιου η βαση σας δεν ειναι ακινιτη! Μια νεα μοναδα το Crawler επιτρεπει στο παικτη να παραγει και να αναβαθμιζει της μοναδες του σε οποιοδηποτε σημειο του χαρτη ενω το ιδιο το Crawler μπορει να μετατραπει σε μοναδα πρωτης γραμμης.

·  Στο multiplayer κομματι του παιχνιδιου θα μπορουν να παιζουν μεχρι και 10 παικτες ταυτοχρονα ενω διατηρηθηκε και το two-player co-op  απο το Red Alert 3! Πολυ καλα νεα για τους φανατικους του multiplayer gaming λοιπον!

Gameplay

Στο Command & Conquer 4 ο παικτης αρχικα καλειται να επιλεξει αναμεσα σε καποιες κλασεις (offence, defence και support). Η καθε κλαση μας δινει προσβαση σε συγκεκριμενες μοναδες οι οποιες αναλογα την κλαση στην οποια ανηκουν ειναι καλες σε καποιον τομεα (επιθεση, αμυνα, υποστηριξη).

Το Tibeium εμφανιζεται σε διαφορα σημεια στο χαρτη και μαλλον η συλλογη του θα ειναι δυνατη απο καθε μοναδα. Οι μοναδες δε κοστιζουν καποιες χρηματικες μοναδες υπαρχει ομως περιορισμος στον αριθμο των μοναδων  που μπορουμε να εχουμε κατι που γινεται πολυ συχνα τελευταια στα παιχνιδια του ειδους.

God of war III

Η επιστροφη του Κρατος!!!!


Στις 30 Μαρτιου 2010 η Sony Computer Entertainment (πολλα τα ετη) ανακοινωσε την κυκλοφορια του God of war 3.Το συγκεκριμενο παιχνιδι δεν μας τραβαει λογω της πλοκης του,η οποια απ'οσο φαινεται ειναι πιο ''αδυνατη'' απο τα 2 προηγουμενα παιχνιδια της σειρας,παρολαυτα τα γραφικα του ειναι καταπληκτικα.Χαρη στις δυνατοτητες του playstation 3,συμφωνα με τους δημιουργους,αυξηθηκε ο αριθμος των εχθρων στην οθονη.Ενω δηλ στα προηγουμενα 1,2 βλεπαμε μεχρι 15,στο 3 μερος της σειρας,ο παικτης θα εχει την δυνατοτητα να αντιμετωπισει εως και 50 ταυτοχρονα!Επισης θα υπαρχει μεγαλυτερη γκαμα οπλων τα οποια θα ειναι πιο ευχρηστα απ'οτι στους προηγουμενους τιτλους,καθως και καποια καινουργια οπως τα εντυπωσιακοτατα lion gauntlets.Τελος,αναμεσα στα boss θα βρουμε Αδη,Ποσειδωνα,Δια,Ηλιο,Ερμη και Απολλωνα.Not bad...

Come play dying!!!

Προσφατα ενας φιλος με ενημερωσε για ενα περιστατικο που συνεβη στην αλλη πλευρα του Ατλαντικου.Στο New Jersey των ΗΠΑ,ενα παιδακι ηλικιας 9 χρ. την ωρα που επαιζε playstation με ενα φιλο του,ξαφνικα για αγνωστους λογους ορμηξε και τον μαχαιρωσε!Μισο υπαρχει και το ''αστειο'' της υποθεσης.Το παιχνιδι που παιζανε,συμφωνα με τις πηγες μου(bbc,cnn,reuters,fashion tv)ητανε το Tony Hawk.Για οσους δεν γνωριζουν,το εν λογω παιχνιδι ειναι ενα παιχνιδι με skateboard.Να πεις κανενα call of duty(yeah!) να το καταλαβω χαζοαμερικανακια ειναι αυτα οπως πυροβολουν στην οθονη,τραβανε και το σιδερικο στο σχολειο πανω σε αλλα παιδια.εχει μια λογικη οσο να πεις...
Αλλα στα πατινια?Και σαν να μην εφτανε αυτο,στο καπακι χτυπησε την πορτα του παππου του θυματος λεγοντας ''γεια ειμαι ο μικρος τζονι και μολις εστειλα τον μικρο τιμ στον Αγ. Πετρο να δει αν ερχεσαι''.Ο παππους τρελαθηκε με αυτο κλπ κλπ.
Εν τω μεταξυ μετα απο αυτο θα ξαναρχισει το κυνηγι μαγισσων(αραγε σταματησε και ποτε?)σχετικα με τα video games που προωθουν τη βια και τα παιδια επηρεαζονται αρνητικα και αλλα πολλα.Ναι βεβαια ειναι αλλωστε πασιγνωστο πως οι σπαρτιατες απο 7 χρ. επαιζαν halo για να ''ξυπνησει'' ο πολεμιστης μεσα τους.Η βια ειναι εμφυτη και δεν αρκει ενα video game για να ενεργοποιησει τα αγρια ενστικτα μας.Καλυτερα 200 νεκροι στο pc,παρα ενας απο εκρηξη θυμου.Χιλιες φορες να ξεσπαμε σε αψυχα γραφικα παρα σε ανθρωπους.Δυστυχως μερικοι βρισκουν ευκολα στοχο στα παιχνιδια γιατι η πλειοψηφια που τα υποστηριζει ειναι πιτσιρικαδες τους οποιους κανεις δεν ακουει γιατι ''δεν ξερουν'' ή γιατι ειναι ευκολο να κατηγορησουμε το προφανες.Απλα με προβληματιζει το γεγονος πως πολυς κοσμος λογοκρινει το gta πχ γιατι κανεις ο,τι γουσταρεις,ενω κανεις δεν εχει προσεξει 6 ταινιες saw στις οποιες ξεκοιλιαζονται αβερτα και με εμετικους τροπους τα θυματα του δολοφονου.


Τελοσπαντων επειδη δεν μπορω να βλεπω αλλο να κατηγορουν τα video games,οριστε ενα παραδειγμα να δειτε εσεις οι δυσπιστοι οτι δεν ειναι ολα βιαια και ακαταλληλα για παιδια,αλλα αντιθετως υπαρχουν καποια τα οποια ασκουν καλη επιρροη στη νεολαια μας.Προτου το δειτε πειτε και ενα ευχαριστω στον φιλο Hellknight που ειχε την καλοσυνη να μας το στειλει.... :-)

Μια φορα και ενα καιρο οι τρεις σοφοι ο Ατρειδης(μεγαλο ψωνιο),ο Αντινοος (που μιλουσε με τα ζωα) και ο Rat(που το επαιζε εξυπνος), τρομαγμενοι απο οσα ειδαν στην ταινια 2012 μαζευτηκαν σε ενα συμποσιο(γιατι τα φαγητα ηταν τσαμπα)και ενωσαν την σοφια τους για να σωσουν τον κοσμο.Το αποσταγμα της φιλοσοφιας τους βρισκεται μεσα σε αυτο το blog και δωριζεται απλοχερα σε ολους εσας στην προνομιακη τιμη των 899 το μηνα χωρις Φ.Π.Α. ή αποδειξη.Το ποιοι ηταν οι αλλοι 2 απο τους 5 παραμενει μυστηριο μεγαλυτερο και απο το ποιος παγιδεψε τον Roger Rabbit.Οταν με την απεραντη σοφια μαςτο λυσουμε…..σιγα μην σας το πουμε.μουχαχα!!!
